In preparation for The Fairmont Copley Plaza's centennial celebration, our hotel announces a complete restoration project, totaling over $20 million. The renovation will include many enhancements to the hotel’s 383 guestrooms and Fairmont Gold Lounge including new furniture, fixtures and equipment. The goal is to add new, upscale and contemporary features to each guest room.
The Fairmont Copley Plaza has also added a brand new, state-of-the-art health club, which debuted in early 2012. This fitness facility is located on the roof of the building, and includes 3,000 square feet for machines and free weights. A spacious outdoor deck is being built along the corridor of the building, perfect for relaxing before or after a workout, while floor-to-ceiling windows offer sweeping views of Boston's Back Bay.
Parker Torres, a Massachusetts-based international interior design and architectural firm specializing in hospitality design, will manage this extensive project. The firm will incorporate the exquisite marble and shades of color from the public space into the guestrooms.
The effect in the guestrooms and corridors will be a design palette of quiet sophistication that leverages the hotel’s rich history and Back Bay location, while also meeting the needs of today’s chic and contemporary traveler.
The Fairmont Copley Plaza will remain open throughout the entire renovation. The guestroom part of the project will begin in the fall of 2011, and we anticipate completion by the celebration on our centennial in summer 2012.
