WELCOME TO THE FAIRMONT FAMILY - Collection Expands with New Destinations and Products -
TORONTO - Fairmont Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its brand presence globally, with a number of exciting hotel and mixed-use projects in its development pipeline. Located throughout the world, these properties will be introduced over the course of the next few years and include hotels in Kenya, Cairo, Abu Dhabi, Vancouver, South Africa and Asia.
2007 Fairmont will rebrand three Kenyan hotels in late 2007. The collection encompasses The Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi, the Mount Kenya Safari Club and the Mara Safari Club. Plans are underway for $35 million in phased enhancements to these properties. Project partners include Kingdom Hotel Investment Group and IFA Hotels & Resorts.
The Fairmont Towers, Heliopolis will open fall 2007. Centrally located and 10 minutes from the international airport, the hotel will encompass 235 rooms, extensive conference facilities, a spa, atrium garden and dining outlets. Project partners include Gulf-Egypt for Hotels & Tourism, United Real Estate Co. and Kuwait Projects Company (KIPCO).
Fairmont will once again welcome guests to the world’s most famous hotel by winter 2007. Manhattan’s Plaza Hotel, owned by ELAD Properties and Kingdom Hotel Investment Group, is currently undergoing an extensive $350 million renovation which will feature 282 oversized, luxurious suites. The restored Plaza will also contain 182 elegant private residences and high-end retail stores. The great public spaces, the Palm Court, the Oak Bar and Oak Room, the Terrace Room and the Grand Ballroom and the Edwardian Room, will be accurately and thoughtfully restored, including a replica of the original stained glass ceiling in the Palm Court.
2008 Fairmont Heritage Place Ghiradelli Square will bring an exclusive urban private residence club to one of San Francisco’s most historic neighborhoods. Located in the original chocolate factories, the residences will offer extraordinary views of San Francisco Bay and Alcatraz Island. This new addition to the Fairmont Heritage Place collection will be at the center of a revitalized Ghiradelli Square, which will also include high-end retail, fine dining restaurants, art galleries and spa facilities in an intimate, European plaza experience. Project partner includes JMA Ventures, LLC.
A second flag will be flown in Cairo at the 552-room Fairmont Nile City. Overlooking Egypt’s Nile River, Fairmont Nile City will be just 30 minutes from the Sphinx and Great Pyramids of Giza. It will house four restaurants, four bars and lounges, a business center and meeting space. The rooftop, overlooking the Nile and the Pyramids, will feature one of the restaurants, an outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub and outdoor function space. Project partners include Nile City Investments Company and Kingdom Hotel Investment Group.
2009- 2010 On The Palm, Jumeirah, Fairmont Palm Island and the Fairmont Palm Residences will comprise a 400-room luxury resort with 460 vacation ownership residences. The hotel will include extensive meeting space, outdoor leisure facilities including a beach club and beach restaurant, a pool complex and children's activity center, as well as a variety of dining facilities featuring sea, garden or pool views and a Willow Stream spa. Project partners include Kingdom Hotel Investment Group and IFA Hotels & Resorts. (2009)
Fairmont Pittsburgh will feature 185 guest rooms, approximately 12,000 square feet of meeting space including a 6,000 square foot divisible ballroom, a lobby lounge and bar, an 8,000 square foot spa and fitness center and a three-meal restaurant. The hotel will be housed in Three PNC Plaza, a 780,000 square foot mixed-use “green” building now under construction in the heart of downtown, adjacent to the Cultural District. The hotel, which will be developed with Three PNC, LLC, will be built according to sustainable design and construction guidelines, complementing Fairmont’s philosophy of operational sustainability and responsible tourism. Located across from the Vancouver convention center, the Fairmont Pacific Rim will include a 415-room luxury hotel and 200 residential condos. The hotel will have an unrivalled location adjacent to the Vancouver Conference Center expansion and will provide spectacular views of Stanley Park, the Burrard Inlet, the North Shore Mountains and the city of Vancouver. Fairmont will manage the new luxury mixed-use development in Seaside on the Monterey Bay in Northern California. The hotel will feature 330 rooms and suites, 160 of which will be situated in secluded bungalows, 24,000 square feet of meeting space, a 14,000 square-foot Willow Stream spa, several dining outlets and an outdoor pool. Fairmont will also assume management of the existing 36-hole championship Bayonet and Black Horse golf course facility. In addition, a residential component is planned with 170 condominiums and 125 single-family lots. (2010)
The Fairmont Tamarack, by design from Stefi Graf and Andre Agassi, will be an all-season mountain destination built in two locations at the Tamarack Resort, 90 miles north of Boise, Idaho. Situated within the village, the resort will feature 225 luxurious condo-hotel units that offer scenic views of Tamarack’s mountain, championship golf course and Lake Cascade, in addition to private residence club units and a European-style spa. An additional 35 private residences will be built mid-mountain, offering exceptional ski-in/ski-out access. Project partners include Agassi Graf Development LLC and Bayview Financial(R) L.P. (2010)
Fairmont Anguilla will offer 140 rooms and suites, meeting facilities and a Willow Stream spa. The property has also been selected as the site for a Jack Nicklaus Golf Club, one of 25 worldwide destinations. (2010)
Located in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal, the Fairmont Zimbali will feature a 150-room luxury resort hotel, championship golf course, full-service spa and vacation ownership products, including Fairmont Heritage Place. Project partners include IFA Hotels & Resorts. (2010) Fairmont Raffles Hotels International has announced the addition of 1,200 rooms to the Cotai Strip, currently being developed in Macao, China. In addition to the 1,200 rooms to be managed by Fairmont and Raffles, approximately 300,000 square feet will be allotted for a Raffles branded residential product. The complex will also feature entertainment and casino gaming facilities as well as prime retail space. Project partners include the Las Vegas Sands Corporation. (2010)
Fairmont will soon have a footing in Oman, with plans to manage a new property on The Wave, Muscat project, a leading tourism and beachfront residential development located along the Omani shoreline on the Indian Ocean. The Fairmont resort is adjacent to an18-hole Greg Norman signature golf course, and will feature a hotel, restaurants, meeting facilities, a Willow Stream spa and branded residential products. Project developers include MAF lnvestments and the Government of the Sultanate of Oman. (2010)
Partnering with Jin Jiang International Group, Fairmont will renovate and reopen The Peace Hotel, a Shanghai landmark for over a century. The hotel has hosted distinguished guests from all over the world, including politicians, artists and celebrities such as General Marshall, Charlie Chaplin, Bernard Shaw and Noel Coward, who wrote Private Lives while in residence. Situated on the Bund, the 12-story Peace Hotel enjoys a premier downtown location, facing the Pudong area over the Hangpu River. (2010)
The Fairmont Abu Dhabi Resort & Villas will be located within the new Marina City Development, consisting of 24 high rise residential towers connected by a four-level podium of commercial office space, food and beverage outlets and retail space, all with underground parking. The hotel will feature 400 guestrooms and suites plus 100 one and two-bedroom long-term serviced apartments, a Willow Stream spa, banquet space, and food and beverage outlets. Fairmont will manage the resort on behalf of the Abu Dhabi- based National Investment Corporation. (2011)
