 In 2008, the entire city is sure to come alive with the large-scale events planned for its 400th anniversary. The following include only a few of the many great productions that will be part of the celebrations.

The Image Mill by Robert Lepage - June 20 to July 29 At Espace 400e visitors can see The Image Mill, an open-air multimedia show by Robert Lepage and Ex Machina. Running from June 20th to July 29th 2008, this singular portrait of the city will be projected onto the largest screen ever used; the 600-metre long grain elevators towering above the north side of the Bassin Louise.
Anniversary Events - July 3 – 6, 2008 Four days of magical programming are planned around the anniversary date. On July 3, the day will begin with a mass held at the Basilique followed by the traditional Champlain Salute and the Freedom of the City ceremony. A special commemorative tribute to the founding of Québec City will then take place in the afternoon and the Summer Festival will present a unique opening show in the evening. July 6, you are invited to a giant picnic on the Plains of Abraham. The highlight of this family get-together will be the aerial photo taken to create a legacy for Québec City's 500th anniversary, another important milestone in our history!
Summer Festival - 400th anniversary Edition: July 3 - 13 The organizers of the Québec City Summer Festival could not have hoped for a better line-up of artists to reach out to all popular music horizons with Mes Aïeux, Charles Aznavour, Lynda Lemay, Fergie, Yes and Linkin Park each taking to the stage of the Scène Bell on the Plains of Abraham on different dates. For each of these major artists or groups, it will be their only show in Quebec this summer.
Closing Event To coincide with the end of the 12th Summit of French-Speaking Countries, the Cirque du Soleil will expand all of its creativity to thrill audiences from countries that share French as a language. This unique show created by members of the Cirque du Soleil will include artists, both local and from other French-speaking countries. Espace 400e Overlooking the Bassin Louise, Espace 400e will be the main venue of the celebrations.In an atmosphere of relaxed hospitality, visitors will be able to participate in daily events in a newly-renovated theme pavilion and its surroundings. Indoor performances and encounters will be held in the intimacy of the a covered square, and outdoor activities on the wharfs. A succession of official and unofficial presentations and gatherings will unfold throughout the summer season. Visitors can also take a stroll and enjoy the unique gardens laid out by various landscape artists, the pride of the newly-renovated Bassin Louise. Espace 400e is at the heartbeat of life in the harbour, right beside the river where Quebec's story began. The Whole City Is Celebrating!
