The Fairmont Waterfront Luxury Hotel in Vancouver, BC

More Activities

Since January 2002, The Fairmont Waterfront included on its payroll a handsome, playful four-legged employee to act as hotel Ambassador. Morgan, the black Labrador retriever quickly settled in to his new responsibility of greeting guests outside the hotel lobby. Morgan's claim to fame was receiving 'The Royal Pat' from Her Royal Highness, Queen Elizabeth II, during her Royal Jubilee visit in October, 2002.

In October 2003, the media and guest attention that Morgan received prompted The Fairmont Waterfront to employ Holly, a Golden Lab-retriever cross, to ensure both dogs received adequate time off, while having puppy love available for guests visiting the hotel. Before Morgan and Holly both joined The Fairmont Waterfront, they were a part of The British Columbia Guide Dog Services.  The organization recommended two of their overly playful puppies who didn't quite make their final cut, but who were more than qualified for the prestige position of Hotel Ambassador.

Morgan has recently retired to enjoy some more recreational activities in the beautiful city of Vancouver. However, Holly has continued her employment at The Fairmont Waterfront as our Hotel Ambassador. Holly can be seen greeting guests in the hotel Lobby; she generally works Wednesdays and Fridays, complete with morning and afternoon naps. At this current time, Holly is not available for walks with hotel guests.

The Fairmont Waterfront kindly asks that hotel guests do not feed Holly, as she is trying to maintain her "girlish figure" and she is well looked after with the regular treats she receives from our local Mailman.

Golf

Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club
The Fairmont Waterfront, in partnership with Westwood Plateau Golf & Country Club and Helijet International, has created Vancouver's 'Heli-Va-View Golden Golf Package.'  This package brings together three distinct partners, each offering spectacular views of Vancouver and surrounding area.

Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club and the Golf Academy are nestled on the edge of Eagle Mountain in Coquitlam, British Columbia, within easy driving distance from downtown Vancouver.  Designed by international golf course architect Michael Hurdzan*, Westwood Plateau's two golf courses provide breathtaking views and memorable moments for golfers of all skill levels.  Since opening in 1995, Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club continues to be recognized as one of the premier daily-fee golf courses in North America.  Westwood Plateau is the recipient of many local and international accolades for our food, clubhouse and hospitality.  Golf Digest Magazine recently ranked Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club in the Top 5 for 'Best in Customer Service' out of 6000 facilities in North America and the Caribbean, and Score Magazine named Westwood Plateau's 18 hole course and facilities in the 'Top 10' public golf courses in Canada.
