Ever wondered what secrets whisper in the walls of a glamorous hotel? Wouldn't it be great to find out more? To launch celebrations marking Fairmont Hotels & Resorts' centennial, several iconic hotels will hold exclusive "Open Doors" events. From April to December 2007, one hotel per month will host historical, behind-the-scenes guided tours for guests and members of the public.

From famous guests and events to secret passageways, to simply sharing a day in the life of a hotel, the "Open Doors" tours promise to shed light on Fairmont's rich and storied past while also showcasing the vibrant buzz present in these properties today. The guided tours will run throughout the day, and will be approximately 45 minutes in length. A sample tour may find you meeting your guide and group in a grand lobby, visiting famous ballrooms where greats like Tony Bennett and Ella Fitzgerald held court, listening to tales of resident ghosts and exploring the hotel's busy kitchen, where you may be lucky enough to sample the local fare! Tours are complimentary or will have a nominal fee, then donated to charity.

After the tour, relax a while and enjoy Afternoon Tea, featuring the 1907 Centennial Blend, a limited-edition created by The Metropolitan Tea Company Ltd. Or, toast the anniversary with a centennial-inspired cocktail at one of Fairmont's legendary bars or lounges. Perhaps a little shopping will be in order…Fairmont Stores and participating Fairmont retail outlets will offer a 20% discount on all merchandise when using your American Express card on "Open Doors" event days.
