Fairmont Château Laurier will accept pets (cats or dogs) less than 20 lbs., with an additional fee of $25 CAD per day. For the convenience of our guests who are traveling with a larger pet, the hotel offers the following Ottawa-area boarding alternatives. There is a daily cleaning charge per pet of $35 CAD to ensure that future guests with allergies have no problems after your departure.  

• Pets must be kept in a cage when unattended in room. Please not that it is important to respect hotel guests. If you leave your pet alone in your room, he can feel lonely and cry. Should we receive a complaint from a guest, your pet will not be allowed to stay on the property.
• Keep your dog on a leash on the hotel grounds at all times.
• Please pick up after your pet.
• Dogs are not allowed in the lobby, restaurants, bars as well as at the pool areas and sports center.
• Please do not approach the designated dog sledding area with your pet.
• Seeing-eye dogs are allowed everywhere at no extra cost.

Pets Welcome at The Fairmont Empress
We understand your cat or dog is just as much a part of the family as other members and we are delighted to provide some comforts of home while staying in Victoria.

A charge of $25 CAD per night will apply for each pet and will be added to your guestroom bill.  Upon arrival you will be provided a pet brochure, pet friendly areas and local hotel amenities for pets. Dog-walking maps are available on request.

The Fairmont Empress pet amenities available on request include bed basket or kennel, food and water dishes, moist and dry food, bottled water, treats, pet waste disposal bags or litter box. These amenities are available on request and are subject to availability through our Housekeeping Department.

For your pet's safety, we require pets not be left unattended in the guest rooms, and while travelling through the lobby or public areas pets must be carried or lead on a leash. 

Certified Guide Dogs are always welcome and exempt of charges.

We are delighted to partner with The Scruffy Dog Barkery who provides complimentary home-made dog treats for all canine friends staying at The Fairmont Empress.

Dogs arriving at the hotel, with their owners, of course, are greeted with healthy treats handmade by the Executive Pastry Chef accompanied by bottled water and a handy placemat. As part of our “It’s a Dog’s World Package”, each time a guest stays at the hotel with their pet, 5% of their room rate is donated to the Washington Animal Rescue League.

Fairmont Washington D.C., Georgetown's no-charge Pet Program includes lots of other practical items like walking maps to nearby parks, a list of nearby, pet-friendly restaurants, cafes and stores, even loaner leashes and collars, just in case you forgot to pack. The finishing touch, a special sign for your door - the green paw means, 'please service room, animal companion exploring city.' Flip sides to the red paw and Spot can slumber on, 'do not disturb, animal companion napping.'  

Pets must be leashed or crated while in public areas, and are not to be left unattended in the guestroom.  Housekeeping will provide proper service in the guestroom while your pet is out walking or you are in the room with your leashed or crated pet.  Upon arrival, guests are required to sign a damage waiver and agree to the specified restrictions.

Pets of all sizes are welcome in the hotel at a cost of $25/night. The pet must be on a leash at all times and must not be left unattended in the room. Any damage incurred to the room by the pet is the responsibility of the guest. Guide dogs are always welcome and exempt of charges.

For individuals who are not able to travel with their pet, the hotel offers the services of Catie Copley, Canine Ambassador. Catie, a black Labrador formerly trained as a guide dog, warmly greets guests upon arrival to the hotel. She is also available for scheduled walks and runs with guests. There are no weight limitations for pets, however pets must be on a leash at all times and must not be left unattended in the room. If left unattended, you must place your DND sign on the outside of the door. 

The charge is $25 per pet per day. Pet amenities available include food and water bowls, treats, emergency pet food and a welcome gift.

You and your pet are welcome at this hotel, however for the comfort and safety of all our guests, the following rules apply:

•There is a £20 charge per day for all dogs within the hotel. This will be added to you room account.

•The hotel requires a £50 damage deposit from guests housing pets in their room.  Upon checkout the room will be inspected for damage.  If no damage is found your deposit will be returned.  If damage is found Management reserves the right to withhold your deposit for repairs.

•You are required to control noise made by your pet, so that it will not disturb other guests.  Pets that constitute a nuisance to other occupants of the hotel by barking or howling may subject their owner to any other charges for lost revenue by the hotel.

•If your pet is loose you must have a ‘Do not disturb’ sign on the door, in which case your room will not be serviced.  We will not be responsible for your pet getting loose if you do not put the ‘Do not disturb’ sign out.

•For consideration to our staff, children and other guests, you must immediately pick up after your pets.

•Please be informed with the exception of ‘Seeing Eye Dogs’, pets are not allowed in the food & beverage areas of the hotel.
