Mentioning The Fairmont Acapulco Princess luxury resort is to think of an Acapulco icon; designed in 1971 by William Rudolph and Leonides Guadarrama, as an ancient Aztec pyramid just a few meters away from The Fairmont Pierre Marques. First two dazzling white towers raised from over 200 acres of meticulously manicured gardens; in the summer of 1982 the third tower was added.
This breathtaking resort in Acapulco was the latest enterprise of one of the world's largest and least-known business empires owned by Daniel K. Ludwig. Vigorous and alert at 75, Ludwig, from his office in a skyscraper at the north end of Rockefeller Center, decided that Acapulco was the perfect spot for his adventure. Princess Hotels would manage and operate his new masterpiece.
In 1998 Canadian Pacific Hotels purchased the sun-destination Princess Hotels situated in Mexico, Arizona, Bermuda and Barbados; and during October 1999 the administrators of the legendary company signed a fusion agreement with Fairmont Hotels, creating the company Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. This union brought together over a century of rich history and exemplary hospitality.
In 2007, Global Hospitality Investments, a leading private real estate investment company, headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona acquired The Fairmont Acapulco Princess and The Fairmont Pierre Marques, which Fairmont Hotels & Resorts continues to manage. Committed to preserving the preeminent position of these beach resorts and making enhancements to the properties and surrounding facilities, the owners achieved an extensive investment program, with the addition of Turtle Dunes Country Club, the centerpiece within the Princess complex for whole-hearted golfers seeking a premium golf experience in Acapulco. This exclusive club boasts two 18-hole championship courses, one designed with dunes, a world-class clubhouse with services and amenities and the Ochoa Golf Academy.
With over 35 years creating memories at our resort in Acapulco, we look forward to continue our tradition to be your home away home for many years more.
