The Clubhouse Grill offers refreshments once you’re done, and all your equipment needs can be met at The Algonquin Pro Shop. Complimentary shuttles from the hotel are available.

Family Beachcombers
Start your engines with a family breakfast in the Passamaquoddy Verandah. After having all your favourite morning treats, it’s time to discover the beachcombing delights of St. Andrews by-the-Sea. Down the hill from the hotel, you can start at the St. Andrews Blockhouse, a National Historic Site maintained by Parks Canada. Situated at the mouth to St. Andrews Harbour, you’ll step back in time as you rediscover the War of 1812. At low tide, you can almost cross the harbour mouth, and there are all sorts of sea treasures to comb through. A walk along the beach between the Blockhouse and the Town Wharf may lead to all sorts of oceanic discoveries – beach glass, sea creatures and even cast off relics of another time are waiting to be unearthed along St. Andrews’ shores.

Kingsbrae Garden
A refreshing walk down the hill will bring you to the gates of Kingsbrae Garden. This 22-acre horticultural masterpiece will enthrall you, and inspire your green thumb. Wind your way through a wide variety of themed gardens, from a traditional English knot garden, past the children’s Playhouse, to a Blue Garden and even a hedge maze. The Tudor elements of the surrounding buildings set a tone of another era. Refresh yourself with Afternoon Tea on the Fairmont Verendah when you return.

A Day At The Beach
Katy’s Cove provides a unique swimming and beach experience. This ocean fed inlet is controlled so that the water warms to Caribbean-like temperatures. Enjoy a day at the beach, with children’s playground and tuck shop available for your fun and comfort. Looking for a more controlled swimming environment? The pool at The Fairmont Algonquin provides pool toys, lounge chairs and the Pool Hut for refreshment. Both locations are lifeguard supervised for your safety.

For Your Eyes Only
A morning wander along the beach always provides new wonders, and our trail map will ensure getting lost in the view is entirely your decision. A complete loop of the town will take you through tree-lined streets, around Indian Point along the waterfront, and past all the shops of downtown St. Andrews.

After this hour-long adventure, our daily Breakfast Buffet will reinvigorate you with choice local items and all your favourite fare. Make it a true fantasy morning by having breakfast at The Spa before your rejuvenating facial or tension-releasing massage. The tranquil atmosphere will make you think you’re still dreaming!

More of a night owl? This walk also makes for the perfect evening stroll, complete with a stop for ice cream downtown, and a nightcap at The Library Lounge when you return to the hotel.

Curl up for an hour or three beside the fire in The Library Lounge. Book lined shelves will tempt you into a cozy winter hibernation. A cup of cocoa and a warm snack will complete your retreat.
