The museum is housed in a red brick Georgian mansion built in 1824 by Loyalist, the Honorable Harris Hatch. Locally known as Chestnut Hall it contains the eclectic collection of our benefactors, Henry and Juliette Ross, who brought back artifacts from their world travels and were also early collectors of 19th century New Brunswick furniture and Canadian and American paintings. The house is set inside a fenced garden featuring heather beds and, of course, a chestnut tree. Located a short walk from The Fairmont Algonquin.
