Our outdoor heated pool is a favorite family activity as it’s open year round and boasts views of mountain vistas. Our facilities also include an indoor pool, whirlpool and children’s wading pool offering fun for all ages. Please note that a responsible adult must accompany children under 12. Our pools are open from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

t's time for junior golfers ages 4-9 to get excited about golf! The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course makes it easy for junior golfers to learn the etiquette and fundamentals of the game of golf. Junior golfers can golf for free on our Tunnel Mountain Course, when golfing with a parent or adult.

Banff Upper Hot Springs
Open year round, so you can take in the beautiful alpine scenery while you relax and soak in the hot springs. This activity is family friendly, and the Banff Upper Hot Springs offers a children’s area.
Banff Recreation Centre
With public hours, your family can enjoy the Banff Recreation Centre that is the only indoor skating and hockey facility in Banff. The perfect family activities that will tire the kids out and help them sleep!
Banff Recreation Grounds
From May to October, the Banff recreation grounds are a great place for families to visit. There are three ball diamonds, soccer field, 3 shelters & multiple areas for picnics, basketball courts, two playgrounds, tennis courts and washrooms are available. Get your family outside and breathing in the fresh mountain air.
Banff Parks and Playgrounds
The newest family friendly play structure in Banff is located at Central Park and offers a great climbing experience for children between the ages of 5 – 12. There are multiple parks and playgrounds in Banff that are designed for children from 2 to 12 years.

Cascade Ponds
In summer months, Cascade Ponds is a local family favourite. There are plenty of grassy areas and the shallow water makes it an ideal spot for families with young children. Cascade Ponds is complete with washrooms, covered shelters with wood stove, picnic tables with fire pits, trails and a beach area.
Sledding and Tobogganing
The Fairmont Banff Springs has a toboggan run in a prime location, right behind the hotel and next to Bow Falls. There’s often a bonfire and at the bottom of the toboggan run, there’s an outdoor skating rink. Don’t worry about packing your sleds, you can rent toboggans right from the hotel to enjoy an afternoon of carefree fun. If you are traveling with toddlers, Cascade Ponds is recommended for sledding for it’s smaller hills and easier terrain.
Banff Park Museum National Historical Site of Canada
This museum commemorates the approach of naturalists of an earlier error and features over 1300 samples of mammals, birds, wood plants and minerals. An afternoon at the museum is both an educational and fun family activity for adults and children alike.

With special children's programming suited for newborn children through to teens, the Banff Public Library children’s programs are free (although some require pre-registration) we invite you to drop in on one of the many classes offered.
