Banff Centre Speaker Series - Oliver Stone
Enjoy a luxurious stay at The Fairmont Banff Springs hotel and "An Evening with Oliver Stone", on Saturday March 16, 2013.
The Banff Centre presents a rare one-on-one in person conversation with Academy Award winning director, producer and screenwriter Oliver Stone, who will be interviewed by the Globe and Mail's featured columnist and new Banff Centre Globe Canada correspondent Ian Brown, followed by an audience question and answer period.
Oliver Stone came to public attention in the mid 1980s and the early 1990s for writing and directing a series of films about the Vietnam War, in which he had participated as an infantry soldier. He won further attention - and controversy - with the films JFK, Natural Born Killers and Nixon. He has received three Academy Awards for his work on the films Midnight Express, Platoon and Born on the Fourth of July.
