This May, Lunar 8 introduces you to a flavor from the equator of South East Asia, known for the variety of spices and fresh ingredients.
Indonesian cuisine with its many ethnic & regional variations is often mistaken for having only having “Nasi Goreng” (Fried Rice), Satay and “Rendang” (Slow-cooked Beef Curry). With 17,000 islands and 600 dialects, there's so much more. Some of the featured Indonesian gastronomy includes “Balado” style Fried Fish, Roasted Chicken a la “Kalio” and Veal Cheek Satay from Padang. From the island of Java, “Liwet” Rice, Java Noodle and “Soto Ayam” Chicken Soup would be featured in the Live Cooking. From Bali, the Island of Gods, Chef William showcases Balinese style Barbequed Chicken and Ribs and “Jukut Bejek” (long beans with coconut milk).
