Poor English for a 5* Hotel, Hotel had no food

On a Tuesday (26th March), the hotel was unable to serve any food- no room service, Cut was not operating. This is unbecoming of a 5* hotel. Also, hotel staff could not communicate in English and had to bring an app up to the room for help. Breakfast used to be delicious- but now quality and taste are poor. Dumpling skin is so thick- one might as well be eating dough. Chinese food variety and quality are very poor.

Wowed! Nice amenities!

We all enjoyed our stay. The private lounge was especially nice: to be able to dine in quiet and to have a place to relax was wonderful. We all enjoyed the swimming pool, gym, and massages too. The amenities made the stay quite special.

Comfortable hotel, yet with some need for improvements

Nice hotel, professional and welcoming staff. Problem with water on the second day (no water in the room). Room and lights could be modernized a bit (too dim lighting) and facilities a bit ageing.

Passed it glorious days....

I used to stay here when it was first opened 10 yrs ago and then i switched to JW Marriott due to bonvoy program. I tried my luck this time round this time round due to Accor Plus program but was disappointed. The room badly needed a retrofitting to be in line with the Fairmont branding. The Willow Stream facility are old and tired looking. And hotel website states that lunar 8 offers Peking Duck and chinese cuisine but we were told they only offer simple stir fried items when we arrives. There was no welcome card from GM to welcome gold member. Something which i got from all Accor hotel around the world (except Ibis maybe). All in all, i hope Fairmont Beijing can get back it glory soon if it put its heart and soul into it together with the hotel owner!
