All of the staff we interacted with were great, very friendly and accommodating. Appreciated the free refrigerator to keep leftover and snack food plus waters cold in the room. Location was perfect for walking the riverfront area, short walking commute to lake/navy pier. The elevators were honestly nerve-wracking. There were multiple times were our elevator would abruptly stop for about 10-15 seconds then start going again (it happened both up and down). When it happened, it never occurred (stopped) on the same floor. There were several people who mentioned a struggle with the temperature in the hotel rooms. We were part of that group. We eventually turned our thermostat off, cracked the windows, and were comfortable. But we've never had to do this in a hotel to get to a comfortable temperature. The gym was very warm, probably close to 70+ degrees. There were no sweat towels (only paper towels) or sanitizer cloths available to wipe down equipment after use. The food was hit and miss. When it was a buffet, the food was mostly good. However, when it was a sit-down dinner, the food was either cold, missing items that were supposed to be included, or oversalted.

Front desk great. Benjamin the door Man was suburb . Room was clean! We did not get new coffee in room either day and cups were not cleaned but that's all .

First time in Chicago and had a great experience at the Fairmont. Staff was very hospitable and helpful. We used the gym and were very impressed with the facilities. Overall great experience and safe location.
We loved staying in the Gold Suite. The renovated room was beautiful! The lounge was perfect. The food options were delicious and all the staff were top notch! It was great to sit in the beautiful lounge, relax and take in the beautiful views. We really appreciated the birthday amenity as well. We would definitely love to stay in the Gold suite again soon as we come to Chicago often.
Greeted by Benjamin at Valet - fabulous customer skills and great asset to your hotel. He was helpful and courteous. I let them know we would be checking out at 4:00am to head to the airport and they let me know the car would be at the front waiting for us. Check-In was mediocre. Received our room key and I inquired about our complimentary welcome beverage certificates. Response from front desk was, "did you just sign up for All Accor?". "No, we are Platinum..." "Oh, we only give those to people that just signed up" Room was very nice and recently renovated. Went to Fairmont Gold - beautifully renovated facility. Tamara was very pleasant and helpful. Slim pickings for Evening Snacks... only one employee working in Fairmont Gold on a Saturday. Left for dinner, which took longer than expected. Called 8:55pm to be transferred to Fairmont Gold - to reserve some desserts and ask for them to be placed in our room. No answer at Fairmont Gold. Phone system automatically transferred me to the front desk - lady answering immediately says, "Front Desk, please hold". Waited for 2-3 minutes...no answer. I then called back and went through the same scenario 4 more times - tried to ask for help when transferred 4 times to the front desk, but was immediately put on hold. I called back a 5th time and said - "whoa - please help me". She said she was the manager and the only one working at the front desk. I explained my request for desserts (now that it was 9:09pm) and was told "sorry, they are gone at Fairmont Gold and there is no more dessert". I asked her to please check if there was something we could still get, but was told no. "I can have someone run to CVS across the street to get you something". I told her no, that's weird and this is very disappointing. We leave early and don't get to enjoy the Fairmont Gold breakfast. Overall, disappointing experience Disappointed

The room was spacious and well appointed. Both breakfast and lunch options at the restaurant were great. I was especially impressed with the exercise equipment.
