The porters who took car for parking made me feel welcome and appreciated. The front desk very helpful. The 2nd room we had was lovely with great view. The gala we attended at the hotel presented us with a wonderful dinner and dancing. Upon leaving we stopped for some food and drink. The gentlemen bartender served both the drinks and fantastic hamburger. He said he was there to help make our stay special. Yes, great employees help make a great experience.
Came for a conference but stayed over to visit Chicago attractions. Easy check in, very comfortable room, great location. Only distraction was the coffee/tea service was not refilled daily.
This hotel is very beautiful and clean, but they mixed up my room type. I had booked a room with a King size and I got a queen sized bed. My stay was otherwise pretty nice. There is no free breakfast though, so be warned that sites like Expedia can lie.
Location was very good, close to nice restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself is kept very nice a clean and staff is friendly and always willing to lend a helping hand.
We love the team at the Fairmont Chicago. They always take good care of us and we've never had a bad time there. The location is really convenient, and the New East Side neighborhood has everything you need.

The customer service was just ok. There was no fridge for me to place any items in, only a fridge fully stocked with their items. I was charged for an $20 bottle of Evian that was never even touched. The wait for my bags was always a lengthy wait, with no attendant at the desk. Overall, the location is good for the downtown area. The underground tunnels, although confusing, were very convenient navigating between hotels for my conference, especially during cold/rainy days. The room was nice.
Good location. Room was clean. Housekeeping wasn’t done well on 2 nights. Netflix and YouTube were not working in the room.
I stayed at the Fairmont for a conference in town. The accommodations exceeded my expectations. The restaurant serves great food and beverages, and the staff were very warm and welcoming.
The room was fine with nice view, but the bed too soft. I am really dissappointed with the bad management and the staff attitude. This is most strange experience of stay at Fairmont: 1. Everytime I back to my room, the mugs gone On the 1st day I met one of cleaning service staff and ask about the mugs and she said it's mini bar in charge not cleaning service and she offered the muggs from the other room. The attitude of this lady is lack of hospitality, talking so casually and I see her sat inside room hotel while eating her food. Is it allowed? 2. When I need clarification about how much hotel credit that left? The reception seems so confused and keep answer with another confusement than I brought the restaurant manager to reception to talk together. Then the reception gave an answer that I trully don't understand is that correct? I have breakfast credit USD 31 per person & USD 100 hotel credir. Then on the 2nd day (only 1 time brakfast) she said I already use all my hotel credit, what a strange? Then she will solve & do it manually And on the 2nd day I asked again to make sure do I still have the breakfast credit? The she said no, because I check out on 30th March( last day). What ? So staying 3 night only 2 breakfast? Then she busy again with her screen then confirm yes I can still hv breakfast? Oh my God is this how 4-5 star hotel works? 3. On the last night of my stay I was so tired and plan to order room service for dinner. Then I stop at the restaurant to check if the room service menu has a better choice and I show my welcome drinks coupon, then she said I can have my drinks at my room as well since I will order room service. Then I called room service from my room to order my food & welcome drink. But the restaurant said I should have the drinks at the bar , can not send to the room. What another confusement!! 4. I call reception to complaint why the lady at the restaurant said that I can have my welcome drinks at room? The reception only listen and then said pass the phone to the Manager. After hold the phone quite long, finally someone answer my phone but introduce herself as a reception? Huh? Then I said this phone supposed pass to Manager. Then she talk casual and rude: I am one of it. Then after listening to me she said : mam could you take the coupon and we can read it together rudely. Do you think I can't read??I am so tired and upset, then she casually said sorry with no sincererity! Then after 15 minutes she called back, her name is Shonette who claim she is one of the Manager? I wonder as a Manager how come talk so rude and handle this matter like this? She said mugs is minibar department responsible! So? I should find the minibar manager to ask for the muggs? So strange, everyday they took the mugga out, how we gonna drink our coffee? With wine glass? I can not write all my conversation with ms. Shonette, I was so upset how come a 4-5 star treat their guest like this, even 3 star hotel do better. I am so frustated till I feel: Am i staying at somekind like a motel and treated like this? No hospitality zero sincerity. The worst experience ever! Don't stay here. Although upon check out they waived my 1 night stay, it won't change anything! A guess has been treated so bad, all night I can't sleep and rest well, I was so frustated! This is my first time in US and Chicago is the first city I landed. I got a very bad impression about US thanks to Fairmont Chicago. This us not how a hotel works! Stay other hotel! As a loyal All Accor member, I would like to warn All Accor please review this hotel if you don't want more and more member upset.
