MEETING ROOMS: The Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston has a variety of function rooms, totaling more than 21,000 square feet, including:
The elegant 5,720 square foot Grand Ballroom with a Louis XVI decor of crystal chandeliers and gilded decorations. Under the Ballroom’s trompe l’oeil painting of blue sky and clouds is one of Boston’s largest permanent dance floors. The Ballroom can accommodate more than 1,000 guests for a reception and more than 700 for dinner.
The Oval Room is a more intimate 4,050 square foot room of symmetry and balance. Decorated in the rich classical style, which was popular at the turn of the century, this room can accommodate up to 500 guests for a reception, or 290 for a seated meal. It overlooks historic Copley Square.
The Venetian Room is a 2,025 square foot room of Baroque style architecture, filled with real and faux marble columns, matching chandeliers and wall sconces. The signature double-P crests decorate the mirrors and double doors, and the fish and shell motif is continued from the adjacent Oval Room. In addition to smaller banquets and events, The Venetian Room is often used for receptions that are being held in the Grand Ballroom or The Oval Room.
St. James Room offers nearly 1,500 square feet of meeting space in a comfortable setting overlooking Copley Square. With the adjacent Singleton and Copley Rooms, the St. James Room is an excellent location for a reception, intimate dinner or meeting.
Lower Lobby Meeting Space encompasses five small meeting and break out rooms and has been newly renovated to include a new marble entryway, a distinct conference concierge desk and guest greeting area, new carpeting and wall coverings, new public restrooms and enhanced lighting. Total square footage is 5,600 square feet.
DINING AND ENTERTAINMENT: The Fairmont Copley Plaza Boston offers 24-hour in-room dining, as well as the award-winning Oak Room.
The Oak Room, an award-winning restaurant open for breakfast lunch and dinner, is richly decorated with dark wood paneling and mirrored walls that are illuminated by twin Waterford crystal chandeliers. Rich gold, red and green upholstery fabrics and draperies fill the room, and intricate white plasterwork with detailed cameos adorn the 30-foot-high vaulted ceiling. This room offers gracious banquettes for a comfortable, club-like atmosphere, complemented by a steakhouse menu.
The Oak Bar is reminiscent of a World War II British Officer’s Club in the Orient, with the same dark, rich paneling as the Oak Room and furniture upholstered in rich fabrics. The Oak Bar features an extensive martini menu, as well as a fresh raw bar.
