Hotel History - Fairmont Dubai

Hotel History

For over a century, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts have opened the doors to some of the world’s most celebrated addresses. The opening of The Fairmont Dubai in 2002 marked the first international property for North America’s leading luxury hotel company.

From its debut in February 2002, The Fairmont Dubai has established itself as icon boasting cutting edge design elements and traditional Arabic symbols, personified by the exterior itself, which is based on the Arabian wind tower or Barajeel. The architectural splendour of The Fairmont Dubai has made it a landmark in the ever-evolving city skyline.

With its superb location, in the heart of downtown Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road, the hotel is situated directly opposite the World Trade Centre and Dubai International Convention Centre, with pedestrian access provided by a dedicated walkway.

Garnering numerous accolades including the prestigious title ‘Business Hotel of the Year’ at   the 2007 Depa Hotel awards and ‘Dubai’s Leading Meeting Hotel’ at the 2007 World Travel Awards, The Fairmont Dubai has earned the recognition as one of the iconic five star hotels in Dubai.
