Please note that your wedding at the hotel will be civilly recognized and registered with the Directeur de l'État Civil (Quebec Government). After the ceremony, you may order an official marriage certificate that will be recognized by your province, state or residence country.
A delay of 20-days must be respected before the wedding date for the publication of the wedding bands, although a dispense or waving of the bands may be granted for some special reasons.
In order to set up your file, you will have to provide the officiant with a copy of your birth certificates, and also of your divorce decree or spouse's death certificate, if that is the case. Some other personal information must also be provided to complete the file.
It is important to contact your wedding officiant to confirm the date and the time of the wedding.
It is not necessary to obtain a marriage license or to pass a blood test in order to get married in Quebec.
