Daylight In the Evening
Make the most of your evening in Jasper. In the peak of the summer we experience daylight until 11 p.m. After dinner you will find time to canoe around Lac Beauvert, ride a mountain bike or even play a game of golf.
Barbeques
The “Grand Canadian Lodge” experience in Jasper includes having a barbeque. Through in-room dining we will supply you with your own barbeque, meat to grill, salads and rolls. Enjoy the late sunset on your guestroom patio with family and friends.
The Town of Jasper
After dinner visit the Jasper town site. In town treat yourself to dessert and one of the ice cream or fudge shops. Further, it is also an excellent opportunity to pick up a souvenir of the trip. Many of the gift shops are open late in the summertime. In town Parks Canada also provides many programs and interpretive walks that are great for the whole family.
Nightlife
With an abundance of bars and pubs in the town of Jasper there is always something going on from open mic nights, karaoke, and live music or dancing. Jasper has a vibrant social scene for anyone over the age of 18.
Frozen Maligne Canyon
Strap on a headlight and cleats to explore the frozen wonders of the Maligne Canyon. In the summer the Maligne Canyon is a torrent of rapid water, but in the winter when the water levels are lower you can walk along the floor of this 165-foot deep gorge. Along the way you will get to see many ice formations and frozen waterfalls. You may also see an adventurous ice climber scaling the ice up the walls of the canyon. (This activity is also available during the day)
Dinner and a Swim
Dine in the Moose’s Nook and experience Alberta bison or a rich cheese fondue. The menu of this popular restaurant features many Canadian dishes. In addition our resident pianist, Morley, will play any request for you on the piano. After dinner enjoy a relaxing swim in our outdoor heated pool. With the crisp mountain air and a sky full of stars, swimming after dusk provides a relaxing and serene end to your day in the mountains.
