A definite family favorite, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge pool is a heated outdoor pool that is open year round and is surrounded by views of the local mountain vistas.
Babysitting Services
If the adults want a night out or perhaps a day at the brand new Fairmont Spa, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge offers a babysitting service where the caregivers can look after the children in the room or take them to various hotel activities. Reservations are required and can be made through concierge.
Kids Play Free - Winter
When the snow falls, kids get an extra treat at the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge – free toboggan rentals! The perfect winter family activity, you can slide down one of the hills in front of The Lodge or be towed around our winter wonderland, it’s on us!
Fairmont Fit for Kids - Coming Soon
The Fairmont Fit for Kids program is designed for kids of all ages to receive skilled challenges. Fundamental activities are combined with specific athletic/fitness skills that help improve their overall wellbeing. Fairmont Fit for Kids program is set to start in June - contact our Recreation Department for more details.
Natural Treasures
Our Natural Treasures family program is designed to get the kids outside to explore the great outdoors in the summer and winter alike. This innovative scavenger hunt uses clues and GPS technology to help you find hidden heiroglyphs around the property. Cost is $20 per family - contact the Recreation Department for more details.

Kids Golf For Free (Summer Only)
Golfing is a great way to get in some family bonding on your vacation! Kids under 18 play for free at Canada's #1 Golf Resort when accompanied by a paying adult (one junior per adult) after 1:00 pm. Golf season runs from May - October.
Summer - Outdoor Activity Centre
Head to the Outdoor Activity Centre for all sorts of family fun & games! Play a game of giant Jenga, Snakes & Ladders, checkers or shuffleboard! Challenge your family to a game of croquet or a round of mini putt! Play volleyball, bocce ball, or badminton...the possibilities are endless. Please note that the Outdoor Activity Centre is not open during the winter.

Maligne Canyon
A local favorite, Maligne Canyon is one of the most impressive gorges in the Canadian Rockies. Its sheer limestone walls plunge to depths over 50 metres (165ft) and any season is a good time to check it out. In summer you’ll catch the spray from the Maligne River and in the winter months you can discover the canon through a guided ice walk that takes your family across ice shelves of the canyon floor.
Pyramid Lake
During the summer months, Pyramid Lake is a natural attraction that is perfect spot for a family picnic. After picnicking and taking in the views, you can fish, horseback ride, boat, or windsurf. In the winter months it might be too cold for the family picnic but it makes for a perfect location to skate around or snowshoeing through the backcountry.
Jasper Aquatic Centre
The Jasper Aquatic Centre is local family favorite that features a 25m, 6 lane pool, shallow kid’s pool, a 50 metre (185 foot – 3 storey) waterslide, diving boards, hot tub, steam room and two family style change rooms making it a convenient place to spend the afternoon as a family.
Centennial Park
Jasper locals love spending time outdoors taking in the beautiful surroundings of Jasper National Park. On your family vacation, visit Centennial Park in the town of Jasper that features a skate park, tennis courts, and baseball diamonds perfect for playing around. If you brought your furry family members, check out the off-leash dog park across the street from Centennial Park.
Jasper Municipal Library
With special programming suited for children through to teens, the Jasper Library offers children’s programs that are free to the public. We invite you to drop in on one of the story times or check out the library website for more information.
The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Boathouse
If you feel like staying on the resort, The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge boathouse is on the shores of the beautiful Lac Beauvert. From the boathouse your family can rent canoes, transparent kayaks, fishing equipment or participate in a guided clipper tour.
Jasper Tramway
Bring the family to new heights with the longest and highest guided aerial tramway in Canada and the only guided aerial ropeway in the Canadian Rockies. This experience provides your family with views of six mountain ranges, glacial fed lakes, the Athabasca River and a bird’s eye view of the town site of Jasper. Once at the top, there’s a restaurant for family dining, gift shop and hiking trails. This adventure is more than just a pretty picture; it’s a learning experience for the whole family!
Miette Hot Springs
Open May 11 - October 8, 2012, so you can take in the beautiful mountain vistas while you relax and soak in the hottest mineral springs in the Canadian Rockies. This activity is family friendly, and there are two hot pools - one shallow pool for lounging and another deeper pool perfect for soaking.
White Water Rafting
Take your family on an exhilarating white water rafting trip down the Sunwapta River. This 3.5 hour round trip offers fast rapids, beautiful scenery and wildlife viewing opportunities. This rafting experience is a Class 3 rapid which is suitable for beginners and avid whitewater rafters.
