The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui is celebrating this holiday season, having earned over 20 awards in 2012. The all-suite and villa luxury Maui resort earned praise from national and Hawai’i-based publications for its recent renovations, impeccable service, complimentary guest offerings, full-service spa and newly renovated signature restaurant. In appreciation of the continuous support of its guests, the resort has announced a Fifth Night Free promotion. After three years and over $28 million in renovations, 2012 guests at The Fairmont Kea Lani Maui hotel enjoyed enhanced public areas and landscaping, along with updated suites, villas and pool decks. These improvements, coupled with Fairmont’s unrivaled service, resulted in high marks from Condé Nast Travelerand Travel + Leisure readers. Travel experts, such as Orbitz.com, Travel Weekly, Ensemble Travel, Apple Vacations and Meetings Focus West Magazinealso awarded the luxury resort with impressive accolades, such as Hotel of the Year in North America (Ensemble Travel).
While resort-wide improvements contributed to the enhanced vacation experience, guest offerings were also praised. Spa Kea Lani, the hotel’s full-service boutique spa, was voted among the Top Resort Spas in Hawai’i by readers of Condé Nast Traveler. Spafinder.com also deemed the Maui spa as one of the Best Beach Spas in the state. The 5,500-square-foot spa added two outdoor cabanas in 2012. Additionally, readers of The Maui News voted the hotel’s Hawaiian Cultural Program as the best on Maui. Kō, translates to “sugarcane” in Hawaiian and showcases the culinary history of the island’s sugarcane plantation era and includes Hawaiian, Chinese, Filipino, Portuguese, Korean, and Japanese favorites. The unique culinary concept earned Kō restaurant four Aipono AwardsbyMaui No Ka Oi Magazine readers, including Best Menu for a Small Planet. Executive Chef Tylun Pang was also presented with the coveted 2012 Friend of Agriculture award by the Maui County Farm Bureau for the restaurant’s menu, which includes over 85% locally sourced ingredients.
