The Fairmont Kea Lani, Maui Announces Discounted Room Rates for Winemaker's Dinner

Executive Chef Tylun Pang of the award-winning Kō restaurant has teamed up with Kistler Vineyards and Laurent-Perrier Champagne to offer an “East Meets West” culinary experience for the first annual Wailea Wine and Food Festival. The six-course winemaker’s dinner will be held under the stars at The Fairmont Kea Lani’s Royal Fountain Terrace on December 7, 2012 at 7:00pm. The exclusive event will include a champagne reception, live music from Maui harpist Kristine Snyder, and the opportunity to interact with visiting representatives from Kistler Vineyards and Laurent-Perrier. Discounted rates on one-bedroom suites at the luxurious Fairmont Kea Lani resort will be available on the night of the event through a special online package.

Kistler Vineyards, which was founded in 1978 by the Kistler family, is a small privately owned and operated winery dedicated to the vinification of world class Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The winemakers use old world Burgundian techniques and apply them to new world vineyards to make some of the most well known wine in Northern California. Master of Wine and Director of Sales for Kistler, Geoff Labitzke, will be available during the dinner to provide information about the wine and discuss the selections.
The Kistler Chardonnay and Pinot Noir will pair seamlessly with Pang’s Asian-inspired menu that will utilize ingredients sourced throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Highlights will include the He’eia Samoan Crab, Wok Seared Kona Kampachi and Pulehu Maui Cattle Beef Tenderloin. The evening will conclude with a Hibiscus Tea Poached Asian Pear dessert from The Fairmont Kea Lani’s pastry kitchen.
Advanced Sommelier Kim Beto will be attending the dinner from Laurent-Perrier, a champagne house located in the village of Tours-sur-Marne France that has been creating unique champagnes for over 200 years. The company excels at creative winemaking, resulting in a range of champagnes, recognized for their style, flavor, and consistency in quality.
