Maui Adventures to Haleakala & Hana:Wailea Molokini Snorkel Eco Travel

Hana Pīhoihoi (Adventures/Eco Travel)

If you get board lying on the beach and have an itch to explore, Maui is has plenty of options. One of the many reasons the island is so amazing is because of its diverse landscapes and climates. You could be hiking in Haleakala Crater in the morning, kite boarding off the north shore in the afternoon, and zip lining above Kapalua by sunset.

The ocean provides endless activities. If you haven’t snorkeled at Molokini Crater, you’re missing out. The crater is a marine preserve, so the fish and coral are protected, making it feel like you’re swimming in a fishbowl with stellar visibility. If you’re certified to dive, the backside of Molokini is also a popular diving spot. (If you’re not certified, you can be right at the hotel with a basic three-day course). You also may want to venture to the island’s north shore, where the wind blows harder and the waves are bigger. Here you can learn to kite or wind surf.

Interested in Eco Travel? More and more visitors are looking for ways to contribute to Maui’s island community.  Volunteer with Maui Coastal Land and Trust to pull invasive plants and protect native plant species. Or, join Hoaloha 'Aina (Friends of the Land) to restore dunes and trails along south Maui’s coastline. There are also frequent volunteer opportunities at Haleakala National Park
