While sightseeing opportunities abound in the area, the most beautiful sights you'll see are right outside.  Photographers frequent Telluride to take advantage of the incredible scenery, with 14,000 foot snowcapped peaks, a valley floor blanketed in summer wildflowers, and herds of elk and deer populating the area.  For a more intimate experience of Telluride's natural beauty, activities like hiking and horseback riding offer some of the best views in Colorado.  Jeep tours will take you through the Uncompaghre and San Juan National Forests to old mining ruins, historic ghost towns, and elevations with panoramic views of Southwest Colorado stretching all the way to Utah.
