The fact that things seem to run effortlessly and highly inviting is compliments only to the the team that Cole (GM), Antosh (Director of Food & Beverages), Joe, and Jerome put together. For the years that I've been frequenting this hotel I have never experienced or seen anything that was less than stellar: inclusive being the walk-in from outside entry; to check-in desk; to room conditions; to all dining areas [brunch; high tea; Harvest Room; Confederation Lounge]; to spa areas; as well the grounds of course!

Gold floor was great and appreciated the attentiveness from all the staff througout the hotel.
This was my first time staying at this Fairmont Hotel. The hotel was recently renovated, which was nice to see, as they can tend to be a bit old feeling. The room was nicely done, but the newly redone shower did not drain because grout had plugged the pipe. The room heat controls did not work because the wires were literally crossed. These issues were sorted out promptly, however. There were also lumps under the new carpet as workers obviously did not care about cleaning the floor before putting the carpet down. Shame. I was quite amazed at the price of some of the menu items. I ordered the harvest vegetable salad, and what I got for $21 was a bit shocking. It could hardly even be classed as appetizer size. I would recommend to other patrons that they find other places for dinner as there are plenty of good places to eat nearby. The eggs benny, however, was delicious I have to say, and our waitress was always cheerful and kept the coffee cups full. Bar service in the lounge was also always very friendly.
The hotel was beautiful and clean. The staff were friendly. Check-in took way too long, probably more than 20 minutes, even though all the guest information and credit card were on file. Our biggest complaint would be about the beverage vouchers for Accor members. Servers, managers, and bartenders are unclear about what beverage is allowed and what is not. One server told us it was anything less than $50, but when I asked for a double Oban which would have cost $34, I was told it wasn't possible to order a double. The next server said it's on a case-by-case basis and determined by the bartender. At checkout, we asked the manager and he didn't know how the value of the drink voucher is determined. This is a VERY confusing and frustrating process. Please make it clear to the staff and guests what beverage is allowed.
