Playa del Carmen
Playa del Carmen, the nearest town from Fairmont Mayakoba, is a dynamic village where the evenings can be either romantic or full of salsa, Cuban, lounge or Mexican music. The 5th avenue is alive at night as there are several clubs and bars that cater to every taste. We strongly recommend walking from club to club to experience different ambiences and crowds. Perhaps during your walking experience you will find the Marimba or Statues that brighten up the street.

Xcaret
Xcaret is an ecological park for all ages, with several activities, ideal for those who want to learn more about the Mayan Culture. As an evening activity the Xcaret Spectacular Night is highly recommended for those looking to experience authentic traditions, culture and folklore. The show starts at 7pm (ask for schedules as it’s subject to seasonal variations) with the priest and Mayan warriors wrapped in the smoke of incense in order to announce the start of the cultural and historic journey.

The show continues with the legendary Mayan ball game, recreating the architectural ancient cities and the heavy rubber ball. But there is more, the “Papantla Flyers” recreate yet another ancient ceremony originated in Veracruz, the flyers represent the four elements and the four cardinal points, the dance is accompanied with the music of a flute representing the voice of God.

Afterwards an equestrian highlights the show, where the public will see equestrian exhibitions, horse skill events, colorful customs and music. Last but not least, more than 300 artists and dancers will delight your senses with the best culture, music and regional dances of Mexico.
