The Manoir Papineau
If you only have a few hours to discover the surroundings of our resort, take this time to do a guided tour of The Manoir Papineau National Historic Site and explore our 156 acres while horseback riding or walking our trails.
Part of the grounds of Fairmont Le Château Montebello, The Manoir Papineau National Historic Site is a unique example of a seigniorial manor (1850) that belonged to Louis-Joseph Papineau, lord of the Petite-Nation. The manor's architecture as well as the domain facilities reflect Louis-Joseph Papineau's culture and personality. The Grain Shed and the Papineau family's Funeral Chapel are open to the public.
The Manoir Papineau National Historic Site is opened from mid-May to the end of October. The visit takes approximately 1 hour. Their hours of operation are from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 7 days a week. Reservation is required and can be made through our activity desk located in the lobby. Horseback riding is available from May to November and also requires reservation. If you have chosen to walk our trails, you can ask at the activity desk for a site map. This itinerary takes in total 2 ½ hours and can be done either in the morning, mid-day or early afternoon.
Sports Chalet
For diversified fun, combine 3 activities and make the most out of your time. Head to the Sports Chalet where you are able to rent bicycles and mini golf equipment. You could either bike our resort trails, which total 5 km or you can mountain bike in Montebello’s village. If you’re a little tired from the day before, try the tandem bicycle and let the other one do the work for you!
Afterwards, move on to our exciting and uniquely designed 8 holes mini golf for a game. Now that you spent most of your energy concentrating on avoiding the obstacles, you deserve to relax and enjoy the sun by the pool while having your favorite drink.
It is recommended that you do these activities in the morning or early afternoon so you can enjoy time by the pool in the afternoon sun. The outdoor pool is located a few meters from the Sports Chalet.
