Hotel History
In July 2005, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts assumed management of the property now known as the Fairmont Newport Beach. Fairmont is extremely proud to add this property to its collection of unique hotels and resorts - including four other properties within California.
In order to deliver an exceptional guest experience, Fairmont has initiated a $22 million renovation of the hotel's guest rooms, public areas, restaurants and facilities. A day spa offering an array of treatments will also be added as part of this project. The overall new look, encompassing everything from the entranceway to the gardens, is expected to be complete by the spring of 2006.
This property has played a prominent role within Newport Beach and Orange County since its debut in 1984. The hotel was previously affiliated with Sutton Place. Over the past two decades, the hotel has served as the traditional gathering place for election night galas, large conventions and countless weddings.
Fairmont plans to continue and expand on the hotel's role within the community. The Fairmont Newport Beach will participate in Fairmont's renowned Green Partnership and Adopt-A-Shelter Programs. The property will also support Fairmont's relationship with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
