Vancouver, BC, February 6th, 2012 - Fairmont Pacific Rim begins the New Year with the expansion of its Star Sapphire Ballroom, offering a one-of-a-kind experience within a spectacular setting.
With the investment of $500,000, the Star Sapphire Ballroom and Foyer now provide a total of 12,322 square feet of flexible and multifunctional space; boasting floor to ceiling windows with sweeping corridor views of Stanley Park, Coal Harbour and the North Shore Mountains. Fairmont Pacific Rim serves guests from head to toe with intuitive and approachable service. Why get lost in a crowd? Guests have the opportunity to experience made to measure service with tailored and flexible options.
Just two years old, Fairmont Pacific Rim listened to its guests and invested in more space to host the large, upscale events that are looking for excellence in service, food and ambiance. "We are so fortunate to have an ownership team and brand that always strives to be the best," comments Diane Dillon, Director of Catering. "Fairmont Pacific Rim has been approached by those looking for a venue that can accommodate large and influential events. We are thrilled to have torn down the walls and are now able to provide that space."
From kitchen top to table top, Fairmont Pacific Rim's culinary team prides itself on being one of the only 'made from scratch kitchens' in the city. With over 7,000 square feet invested into the heart of house, Executive Chef Darren Brown and his team create everything from in-house pickling of vegetables and mustards, to their own charcuterie and curing/smoking of fish. Serving restaurant cuisine within its banquet space, the hotel offers complete customized menus to all events.
Fairmont Pacific Rim opened its doors in February 2010 providing meeting & event planners with over 15,000 square feet of flexible and well-appointed meeting space. This light and airy space has just been remodeled to include the newly enhanced ballroom accommodating up to 500 guests and over 6,800 square feet of space. Along with a second ballroom featuring floor-to-ceiling windows that can accommodate up to 250 guests, other event space includes two boardrooms, four meeting rooms and a 24 seat state-of-the-art multimedia theatre. In addition to these eight distinctive venues, guests also have the opportunity to select the spectacular Owner's Suite roof-top terrace, offering a unique and intimate setting for dinner events of up to 60 guests.
Conveniently attached to the newly expanded west wing of the Vancouver Convention Centre, the hotel provides both a covered walkway and elevator access to the building. The meeting and banquet area of Fairmont Pacific Rim is wireless; Ethernet connectivity, web casting and archiving capabilities are also available, as is cutting edge audiovisual technology and video conferencing.
