Travel Advisory: Update on Calgary Flooding
The City of Calgary is recovering from a state of emergency following the flooding of the Bow and Elbow Rivers.
UPDATE: As of June 26, electricity service to the hotel has not yet been restored as expected. To the best of the City’s knowledge, they have advised the hotel to prepare for Saturday, June 29 reopening. Any guests who were scheduled to arrive between then and today have been contacted offering alternative safe and comfortable accommodation in the downtown core where there is full power.
Positive news being reported from the Calgary Stampede, who will produce the event starting in nine days, “Come Hell or High Water.” We’re encouraging all guests to continue on with their plans to stay with us during Stampede 101. There is a handful of The Fairmont Palliser team on property running on generator power and doing everything we can to support guests with any rescheduling needs or alleviate any concerns. We sincerely appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding at this time. The sun is currently shining and the weather forecast for the city of Calgary is favorable as we approach the Canada Day long-weekend.
