 – San Paolo native and Chef de Cuisine Fernando Lima, throws down the gauntlet and challenges men (and women alike) to tackle 15 cuts of succulent meat and a bounty of savory and sweet offerings at the gaucho (cowboy) inspired Friday Brazilian Brunch at Frevo, located at Fairmont The Palm.

 

 

Aptly described as a meat-atorium, Frevo slices up a pantheon of bovine parts, ranging from tri tip (bottom sirloin), top sirloin, rump, ribeye to flank, boneless short ribs and strip loin. With 15 cuts of meat prepared on skewers, carved and served straight at the table, this brunch also boasts a large selection of fresh and succulent seafood and vibrant salads.  After going toe to toe with the main attraction, Brazilian dessert selections of cachaca (fermented sugar cane) flambé fruits, churros (doughnuts), and Macae chocolates creations, brings this gastronomic challenge to a close. 

 

Unlimited pourings of Brazil’s national beverage - the Caipirinha - and the Batidas, a tropical fruit cocktail, with mojitos and Latin hops, round out the experience and sets the stage for festivities reminiscent of a Brazilian carnival with live entertainment.

 

The mastermind behind the Brazilian Brunch, Chef Fernando Lima is a genuine Paulista (born in Sao Paolo), and has spent over 15 years in some of the most celebrated restaurants in Brazil before joining as chef de cuisine at Frevo. Cooking came naturally to him at a young age, and he found himself gravitating towards the nucleus of the house – the kitchen.  With a father as a caricaturist for the local newspaper and his mother taking care of the household, Chef Fernando was the first in the family to embark in a culinary career at the age of nine working in the pastry kitchen learning how to make delectable desserts.  A two time recipient of the ‘Chef of the Year’ award from Veja ABC magazine, he is excited to bring his homeland’s culinary traditions alive for guests and residents in Dubai.

 

Brazilian Brunch at Frevo is available every Friday from 12:00pm to 3:30pm and is priced at AED 295 per person, inclusive of soft drinks and AED 475 per person with unlimited cocktails, hops and vines.
