The Fairmont Pittsburgh always provides an excellent experience. Great location, very attentive staff and clean and very quiet rooms. A very consistent experience every time I am there.
Loved everything! Was very good. The only downside we had was the Powerful Hotel scent from room .

I stayed at the Fairmont for 5 days. This hotel was wonderful. Connor, Alex, and the rest of the front desk staff always greeted us with a smile and were beyond helpful. They met all of our requests with ease and a cheerful attitude. We got reservations at restaurants with no issues. They provided us with amenities we asked for. Sometimes I felt like I was being a bit needy and apologized, but they were quick to assure me it was no problem at all. Ananta, the manager, was a delight to chat with. He really went out of his way to make sure we had what we needed or wanted. The staff made my visit very enjoyable. Everyone we met was passionate about their job and truly loved what they do. The hotel itself is modern with great amenities which I took full advantage of. The rooms are spacious and well designed. The bed was very comfortable. Amazing views of the city! There was a full-sized desk which made working from my room very easy. WiFi worked well. No complaints. Flr. 2 restaurant serves fantastic food. They have a new chef and a revitalized menu that is to die for. The gym was large and had every piece of equipment you would need for a full body workout. The spa was very relaxing. The locker rooms have both a dry sauna and a steam room. They provided robes, towels, and sandals for a proper experience. I didn't get to use their services such as facials, massages, or other services however based on the staff's friendliness and exuberance I'm sure it would have been wonderful. Next time! I'm traveling back to Pittsburgh again next month and have already booked at the Fairmont again. This is now my go-to hotel whenever I am in town.
I think if you billed yourself as a 3 star hotel, you would seem quite good. But to say you’re a five star hotel and then to have the rooms you do makes no sense. The rooms were not entirely clean, the extra cost for internet was ridiculous and the amenities were nowhere near 5 stars. I wouldn’t return.
Overall very enjoyable. One incident with an unwanted item we found in the room We thought some sort of compensation would be offered and were disappointed that the only thing offered were a couple of bottles of water. We still enjoyed the stay. Also disappointed that there were no Fairmont robes available for purchase.
Quality of rooms and service has gone down significantly.

Fairmont Pittsburgh is making changes. New management and support staff. I want to thank Alex and Jimmy for all they did to make our stay relaxing. The staff at Fl2 also deserve mentioning. Each visit, they welcome us back and actually inquire about personal things we have shared during previous visits. The rooms are beginning to look better. Hopefully that trend will continue.
Stayed 4 nights: a retirement get-out-of-town from DC. Endless series of small things, compounding over time, made us question any 4 or 5 star rating for this Fairmont property (especially coming from 10 days at Langham Huntington, another higher-end hotel in league with Fairmont: (1) upon check-in, the small fridge in our room was not stored in its proper piece of furniture, rather it was on the floor, blocking access to one of the beds. We had to haul it out of the way for traffic flow. (2) also upon check-in, a lamp was not plugged in: normally no big thing but the socket was behind the massive bureau/tv, so very hard to maneuver furniture to get to the plug! (3) going out our first afternoon we were hassled by vagrant trying to bum cigarettes, in the hotel lobby! The small triangle park across from entrance has a bunch of loiterers, who that day approached hotel guests, inside and right outside the lobby. No one - valet etc. - made any effort to keep the premises off-limits. [Related point: at a CVS around the corner, employees behind the counter were talking about high level of store theft.] (4) the maid would take used coffee cups but not replace used cups or replenish the coffee capsules (even after i wrote a note asking for that service with my daily tip). (5) speaking of pens, bring your own: the hotel pens did not work: in room ir in restaurant! (6) in general, room could have been cleaner: dust bunnies in corners, bathroom soap, lotion, etc. nozzles were gunked up, furniture scuffed. (7) the satellite TV was absolute garbage each evening, including most importantly when we were trying to watch Iowa vs UConn bball game: totally pixelated and static-y. Pittsburgh has rain and snow all the time: get a better satellite service/cable hook-up! (8) charging for water or m&ms? Good grief: just raise room fee and stop nickel and diming! (9) no pool (so flat-out: no way this is a 5 star hotel). Good spots: F2 restaurant served absolutely delicious food and the bartender/waiter was terrific; bed was comfortable; room was quiet; Orioles were on premise. We had to stay an extra night due to bad weather, and front desk easily accommodated that request.
