Beaches and Activities at The Fairmont Royal Pavilion Barbados Hotel & Resort

Half Day Activities

Island Safari
This non-stop fun expedition takes you to the Eastern and Northeastern side of the island where the wild Atlantic shoreline meets the Caribbean Sea. What makes this experience particularly fun in the knowledgeable and entertaining drivers. The tour includes stops at some of the most picturesque locations on the Island as well as beach stops where a traditional island style meal is served. Duration is 5 ½ hours.

Sunset Catamaran Cruise
Take sail aboard a Catamaran either during the day or early evening. Both cruises sail along the beautiful west coast of Barbados. Daytime cruises include stops for reef snorkeling and swimming with hawksbill turtles. Evening cruises provide you with a mesmerizing view of the colorful Bajan sunset. Lunch or canapés along with a wide range of beverages are included.

Historic Treasure
A great museum to explore on the island is the Sunbury House which is located approximately one hour’s drive from The Fairmont Royal Pavilion. Sundbury is a superb example of a Barbadian sugar estate great house. Built over 300 years ago, Sunbury has a rich and varied history. Apart from the house itself and the beautiful antiques, the one factor that really makes Sunbury stand out amongst the plantation houses of Barbados is because it’s the only one where every room is open to the public and visitors are able to view everything from cellars to the bedrooms. A leisurely stroll through Sunbury Plantation House is accompanied by an informative guide, who gives a vivid impression of the gracious lifestyle of by-gone Barbadian era.

Sightseeing
Start at the capital of Barbados, known as Bridgetown, where you will be in the heart of the commercial life of Barbados. Government Houses, the oldest Synagogue in western hemisphere, Banks, Duty-free shopping stores and malls, local and international restaurants. Enjoy lunch at the renowned Water Front Café which is nestled on the banks of the marina.

Spend your afternoon visiting the George Washington House Museum which is the only house outside the USA where Washington resided, and the last Washington site to be recognized anywhere in the world. Most of the Museums and Government Houses are closed for touring after 5pm but Bridgetown is beautifully lit in the evenings and it’s an impressive view for an evening stroll.
