Over the past decade, San Jose - the 'capital' of Silicon Valley and home to the brightest minds in the computer, semiconductor and biotech industries - has exploded onto the world economic stage as the third largest city in California. Fairmont San Jose hotel plays an integral role in the community, hosting presidents, dignitaries, celebrities, CEOs and noted scholars. Fairmont San Jose opened its doors as the first luxury hotel in the Silicon Valley in October 1987 and it remains the jewel of the city's thriving downtown today.

In February 2002, Fairmont San Jose hotel opened the South Tower and welcomed the addition of 264 new rooms, bringing the total number of rooms to 805.  This newest addition to the San Jose skyline boasts 28,000 square feet of additional meeting space and 33 beautifully appointed guest suites.
