North Beach
For an authentically local evening experience, a cable car ride to North Beach is highly recommended. Riding the cable car line accessible right outside the front of the hotel (The Powell and Hyde and Powell and Mason Cable Car Lines are both accessible from the rear entrance of the hotel), one can head to the famed Italian district to experience some of the city’s most appealing restaurants, cafes and people watching. In addition to an extensive list of lively restaurants (Rose Pistola, Michaelangelo Café and Coppola Neibaum to name a few), San Francisco music and theater options are abundant. The most talked about of these of tickets is Beach Blanket Babylon, a light-hearted musical revue that consistently updates its material to focus on current political events.
