Promenade Playhouse, Harvelle’s and Zanzibar

Nighttime in Santa Monica is fun time, as the city offers many entertainment options. Whether it is going to a simple movie or a musical concert, the options are all right at your fingertips. Known as an acting school and special event space, the Promenade Playhouse is home to “Monkeyshines,” a local improvisation group that typically has the audience in stitches. After that, walk down a few blocks to Harvelle’s Blues Club on 4th Street, and take in any one of the original musical acts that perform on stage. Depending on the night, you could see a great live R&B act with dancers, a country crooner, and of course, the best in blue’s singers. If you’re still looking for more fun and want to get yourself moving to the beat, then continue to 5th street and enter Zanzibar. This nightclub features the best in electronica, reggae, disco, and hip hop music, as well as has special themed nights and often hosts special guest dj's from around the world.
