If you have a little more time to spare, you can start with the half-day itinerary and then head over via foot (or short cab ride) to the upscale laid-back atmosphere of Montana Avenue, home to several one-of-a-kind boutiques, shops, and restaurants. Dine at one of the quaint sidewalk cafes such as Café Montana, where celebrity sightings often happen. From Montana Avenue, return to the Downtown district and take the Tide Shuttle to Main Street, an area of fine restaurants and shops such as Clouds for your fix of aromatherapy candles and other gifts, or Planet Blue for the hippest California-style fashions. On Sunday mornings, enjoy the festival atmosphere of the Farmers' Market, with its variety of local produce, food, flowers, candy, live music, and pony rides for the kids.
