(SEATTLE, WA) November 8, 2007 -- Dennis Clark joined The Fairmont Olympic Hotel on August 1, 2003 as general manager.
Clark brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience to the position. After beginning his career with Hyatt Hotels, Clark joined Ritz-Carlton Hotels in 1983, where he held several positions, including general manager of the Ritz-Carlton, Double Bay, Australia. Clark joined Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in 1994 as director of food and beverage at The Fairmont San Jose and was promoted to hotel manager in 1997. In 1998, he was appointed general manager of The Fairmont Copley Plaza, Boston. In 2002, Clark received the Massachusetts Lodging Association's GM of the Year award.
At The Fairmont Copley Plaza, Clark represented the hotel in the community, while addressing the needs of the hotel's 350 employees and countless guests. In addition to providing strategic direction and leadership, Mr. Clark oversaw the extensive and ongoing multi-million dollar restoration and renovation of the circa 1912 hotel.
In Seattle, The Fairmont Olympic Hotel is similar in stature and prominence to The Copley Plaza in Boston. ''I am honored to be general manager of this iconic property and am committed to caring for and protecting what will always be Seattle's hotel'' says Clark. ''I enjoy stewarding this historic property that has long been Seattle's civic and social address.''
Clark hails from Reading, Massachusetts, outside of Boston. He and his wife Jenny (who attended the University of Washington) have two teenage daughters, Shannon and Brianna. An avid runner, Clark has completed the Boston Marathon three times and counting and the Dublin Marathon once. He enjoys surfing, racing cars and cabinetry.
