We stayed for a birthday weekend. The little exteas like a bottle of champagne and truffles were appreciated. All the staff was friendly. We went to the spa twice. The poolside staff there were exceptional in making sure we were comfortable. It started raining and the man working that day made sure we were under an umbrella and had extra towels and even blankets to keep warm. The spa experience was nice and the massage I got was good although a little pricey. Overall it was a nice e relaxing trip and I would come back and recommend thus hotel to friends.

Nice place and cordial staff. Rooms are very small Upon arrival we got a room on bottom floor and we can hear upstairs guest walking so figured not the best location so we asked to be moved to top floor. They quickly accommodated however placed us in middle floor so now had noise from bottom and top. Third floor may have been ideal. Overall nice. Restaurant Sante was a bit disappointing with some items. Will probably return to try out spa and request 3rd floor or suite.
Overall, the hotel is lovely. Amenities are wonderful. The restaurant was great. The front desk staff very helpful. The only drawback was my room was in the original part of the hotel. It was rather depressing with low lights and an underlying smell. I asked to be moved because of the smell. I was accommodated immediately and moved to a newer part of the hotel. At 130 am I might add. The young lady at the desk was awesome.
Parking was unavailable, the room was icebox cold and there were no blankets, and when I walked into my room the first time the TV was on, which is horribly distracting and off putting. All the staff I met was friendly, the historic hotel was beautiful and unique, the grounds were blooming with flowers and I appreciated the sensitive upgrades that left in place the tiles and dark beams
Listened to a guest staying in the room next to us scream, yell, grunt, throw up, spit, etc… and management did not contact the guest until 2 hours after I contacted management. Genuinely surprised.
bed was very uncomfortable. too hard. hurt my hips. too cold then hot in room. a random alarm went off at 5am and woke us up.
SMI is a fantastic property. Everywhere you look is beautiful and true wine country beauty.
We had to move rooms because our original reservation wasn’t an option (single room with two queens). Moved to another room where the shower wouldn’t work. Finally, our bill and charges were messed up. Very sad.
