The Old Course - (10 minutes from Fairmont St Andrews) The oldest golf course in the world has many remarkable features which help make it so special to golfers. It is St Andrews where golf was first played 600 years ago and yet it remains a real test of golf for today's champions. Despite its reputation and status, The Old Course is a public course and is one of six on St Andrews Links.
Others include the Jubilee, New Course, Eden, Strathtyrum and Balgove - www.standrews.org.uk

Guaranteed tee time packages, to include accommodation at Fairmont St Andrews, are available from a number of specialist Golf Tour Operators including the following...

The Kingsbarns Golf Links - (10 minutes from Fairmont St Andrews) site has long been known for its intimate connection with the sea. The fact that its golf origins date back to 1793 is testimony to the attributes of the site, which foster ideal conditions for links turf to flourish amid interesting natural terrain. This unique part of East Fife has sandy soils, undulating ridges, hollows and the Cambo burn running into the sea. www.kingsbarns.com

The Castle Course - (2 minutes from Fairmont St Andrews) Following the coastline west from Fairmont St Andrews, The Castle Course is just minutes from the resort. The designer, David McLay Kidd, creator of Bandon Dunes on the West Coast of America, has created a typical Scottish golf experience. Each hole has a choice of five tees and the course will be playable between about 5300-7200 yards. www.standrews.org.uk
