The Fairmont Waterfront and The Fairmont Vancouver Airport Included on Prestigious Gold List
VANCOUVER, January 27, 2011 – This year, The Fairmont Waterfront and The Fairmont Vancouver Airport and 10 other Fairmont properties have been voted among the world’s best places to stay by readers of Condé Nast Traveler, the luxury travel magazine catering to discerning globetrotters. Fairmont Mayakoba in Mexico’s Riviera Maya and Fairmont Mara Safari Club in Kenya made their first ever appearance on the list, while Fairmont Le Montreux Palace in Switzerland was specifically noted for having one of the best locations in Europe.
The Fairmont Waterfront once again earned an impressive standing on the Top Canadian Hotels list, with an overall score of 88.8. The hotel’s prime location, outstanding harbour views and Herons Restaurant’s regionally-inspired menus received notable accolades by guests from far and near.
Coming in with an overall score of 88.2, The Fairmont Vancouver Airport was recognized amongst Canada’s best for its vibe, soundproofed rooms, Globe@YVR Restaurant’s offerings and spectacular mountain and runway views. Guest service was also singled out and attests to its moniker as the “best airport hotel in the world.”
This year, more than 25,000 readers voted in the 17th annual poll, awarding Fairmont high-ranking spots in a variety of regions. Other Canadian Fairmont properties included The Fairmont Chateau Whistler; The Fairmont Empress, The Fairmont Banff Springs and The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise.
