The Fairmont Washington, D.C. is collaborating with Friends of the National Zoo (FONZ) on “The Panda Package” in honor or the new giant panda cub, Bao Bao. Discover the wonderful giant pandas at the National Zoo, while helping to ensure them a future in the wild.
“The Panda Package” offers a luxurious guestroom, and a zoo welcome kit filled with a cuddly stuffed panda, a Zoo Map, Giant Panda Fact Sheet, a Panda Postcard, a Zoo Tycoon 2 computer game, a Zoo Pen or Pencil, Zoo Sticker and a Zoo Scavenger Hunt. For each “Panda” reservation, a donation of $10 per night will be made to FONZ’s Giant Panda Conservation Fund that supports initiatives in the U.S. and China.
On August 25, 2013, The National Zoo proudly welcomed a female giant panda cub, the tiny cub was “bearly” four and a half pounds. Bao Bao is now on exhibit in the Panda House from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., and on the panda cam, when she is not spending private time with her mother Mei Xiang.
