Arts and Culture
Whistler’s stunning surroundings have attracted an abundance of artists – each uniquely inspired and eager to introduce their work. Self and guided tours to the artists’ homes are available. Take a self-guided Gallery Tour of Whistler’s galleries ranging from Native to modern art. Maps are provided by the Concierge and galleries are within a few minutes’ walk from The Fairmont Chateau Whistler.
Bicycle Built For Two
Start with a picnic lunch from The Chateau’s Portobello Deli. Rent a bike from the Mountain Adventure Centre on the Lower Level. With a map in hand or local guide in the lead, head to one of 5 local lakes. Lost Lake is minutes from The Fairmont Chateau Whistler. Nita Lake, Alpha Lake and Alta Lake stretch out to the south side of the Village and crystal clear glacial Green Lake is found north of The Chateau. Watch overhead as Whistler Air’s brilliant planes glide and pirouette in for a landing on Green Lake. For a heightened level of adventure, explore Whistler Blackcomb’s Mountain Bike Park; high-speed descents, gnarly jumps and beginner cruiser runs.
