DERBY DAY AT OAK LONG BAR + KITCHEN

Publish Date: 24-Apr-2019

Boston, Massachusetts Wednesday, April 24, 2019

On Saturday, May 4, OAK Long Bar + Kitchen is hosting its fifth annual Kentucky Derby Party. Saddle up starting at 4:00pm for food and drink specials. Race time is 6:50pm and a big screen TV will be set-up to catch all the action. A bugler will play in the dining room leading up to the race for a true Churchill Downs experience. No tickets required.

Two Mint Juleps will be flowing from the bar (a classic julep and a special blackcurrant version we’re calling Giddy-Up) along with two more Derby-inspired cocktails: Triple Crown and Winner’s Circle. The regular food menu will be offered plus two specials: a southern Hot Fried Chicken Sandwich and Single Patty Cheeseburger.

Derby attire is strongly encouraged, so break out your finest seersucker, sundresses, bowties and hats. Prizes will be bestowed for “Best Dressed” “Best Hat” and “Best Tie,” selected by NBC10 Boston’s Colton Bradford, and guests can enter OAK’s social media giveaway to *win the grand prize*: a two-night stay at 21c Museum Hotel Louisville** and Maker’s Mark distillery tour for two. Simply upload a photo of one of OAK’s Derby cocktails to Instagram (either a Story or static post) tagging @oaklbk for the chance to win. All winners announced at 7:30pm.
