Check in took longer than usual, but the food selection in the lounge was good. The new coffee/latte maker works well too.
Room was lovely, staff really helpful. Faultless.
Loved the staff and overall experience was good. But not so happy with the food in gold lounge esepcially for vegetarians. All breakfast dishes included meats, eggs etc.

We celebrated my husband's birthday in mid-January with a stay at the Hotel Vancouver [his special request]. Parking and a late checkout were included as part of a local area special promotion. To our surprise, our room was upgraded and we were greeted with a piece of birthday cake and a couple of drink tickets, which we used for dinner at Notch 8. A visit to the Vancouver Art Gallery, right across the street, was an added attraction.
Stayed for 6 nights for corporate meetings.

My work training and stay were at the Fairmont Vancouver for a week in January. The services provided by the banquet staff were phenomenal! The breakfast and lunch provided were outstanding. Thank you for taking care of us! The hotel itself is very lovely and classic looking, close to shopping and restaurants. The housekeepers did a great job making sure my coffee and tea were stocked daily and my bed tucked in tight. I had no issues with my room. It is always a pleasure staying at the Fairmont.
Everything was great. Got a nice room with a view and the staff at the front desk were helpful in linking my all Accor number to my stay.
The storied Hotel Vancouver was originally intended to be atop a new central train station but the economic crash of 1929 intervened. When it was finally completed and opened in May 1939, the train station feature had been abandoned but the grand railway hotel features were not. It is a spectacular building that retains much of its original charm and we were honored to finally have an opportunity to spend a night here. For years, this hotel was known for its top floor restaurant that featured live band music. This space is now used exclusively for private events, which we think is terrible loss. For a "new" main dining room, the property offers the Notch 8 restaurant, which appeared to have a nice menu but it is far too small for the size of the hotel: we did not make a reservation in advance of arriving and as a consequence would only have been able to enjoy dinner here if we had waited until 8 pm, just a little late for our tastes. Perhaps hotel management could consider reviving their coffee shop, which for years was known as Griffins? I was always impressed with their breakfast menu and when living near Vancouver had often stopped there. One annoyance: there was a long check out line so we used the express option. When I received the statement, I had been charged for a bottle of sparkling water, which is surprising given that no one in our family would ever drink carbonated water. Not cool.
This is the perfect hotel for business or pleasure. Clean rooms, excellent food and incredible service staff. I will be staying here every time I visit Vancouver moving forward.
