My wife and I have stayed at this location on several occasions and keep coming back. The staff are so friendly and make us feel as though each interaction we had with staff that we were the only ones that mattered in the hotel! We always feel as though that extra effort is brought forward and the little things that hotel staff do make us feel as though we are valued.
From check-in to check-out, everything was fantastic. This is one of our favorite hotels and it was great to share it with our kids on this trip.
The hotel is lovely . I was surprised that they had no air conditioning- mid July , it was hot - air would have been nice . My trip was for work and involved me working late into evenings - I would order Uber eats snd every time was an issue for someone to bring to my room . I would have to wait 20-30 minutes for the front desk to “find me someone” who could bring my delivery to my door . I find that unacceptable. They called me rudely every time as if I was inconveniencing them . I was shocked .
Our stay at the Hotel Fairmont Vancouver was incredible. We stayed for my daughters 4th birthday and they went above and beyond for her. They got her gifts and balloons. She felt so special. The room and panty was amazing.

Having stayed in Fairmont gold in Chateaux Lake Louise in the past we decided to stay here for a portion of our honeymoon. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. Checkin was pretty slick and the room was nice. The (included) breakfast was poor both in choice and in quality and the service was indifferent. We spent a week here before our luxury cruise and also for a single night on our return where we apparently were given an upgrade. It certainly didn't feel like it. Our last week was spent driving around different areas of BC where we experienced much nicer hotels which were often less expensive. Overall our stay in the Fairmont Gold in Vancouver didn't have us bouncing with enthusiasm and accolades like our previous Lake Louise experience. Perhaps it was a location thing which made it appear average but it's pretty doubtful that we'll be experimenting further to prove or disprove that theory as there are certainly better hotels out there at the moment offering better quality and value.
My only complaint would be about the mattresses. They seemed old and werent very comfortable. Most people prefer a firm mattress. I was very pleased with the concierge who was always pleasant, available and very helpful.
Being a platinum Fairmont member I'm very familiar with the Fairmont experience, unfortunately my stay at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver was very disappointing. My room card wasn't programmed correctly so I wasn't able to access the gym. After I resolved that I used the shower in my room which had a plumbing problem and the water wouldn't go down the drain correctly. During my 3 day stay room service never refreshed the tea bags or my Fairmont fit cloths even though I called multiple times. Looking at these issues overall left me disappointed with my stay, hopefully the hotel management improves to ensure the Fairmont experience.
Pros: - centrally located - beds were comfy - pool was nice - fixed a few issues with the room quickly - concierge very helpful with excursions, even gave some discounts cards - graciously gave us a free breakfast for the smelly room inconvenience. Cons: - room smelled really bad and first they tried air freshener but the smell was still there, asked to be moved to another room - which they did - when moving rooms, they initially wanted me to go back down to the front desk and get the keys and move ourselves, asked them to assist us with the move which they accommodated - first room did not have the fridge or microwave that had been requested at the initial booking the month before - no hot tub
Our 2 day stay was excellent. (Actually I wanted to take our own bags up to the room when we checked in and the clerk at the desk would not let us do that. The baggage person was congenial and it worked out fine, but the trend is to make baggage services available but not required.) Everything about our stay was superior, including the breakfast.
Although the lobby was beautiful, I do find the rooms still a bit tired looking. I paid for a King suite and we were stuck at the very end of a long hallway away from elevators with a terrible view from both windows. We did not have air conditioning one nite either. It did not live up to the standards of a ‘luxury’ hotel.
