DOWNHILL SKIING
The Lake Louise Ski Resort is the largest ski area in North America. With more than 4,200 skiable acres and 139 named runs to choose from, this alpine terrain offers the perfect variety for all abilities. Every chair lift has both an easy and a more difficult way down, allowing everyone from novice to expert to enjoy and explore the whole mountain, including the famed back bowls. The ski hill is open from mid-November to early May and is a 10 minute drive from the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. A complimentary shuttle service is available for hotel guests. Sunshine Village and Norquay ski resorts are located within 45 minutes drive away and offer alternative terrain.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
Explore the extensive groomed cross country ski trails surrounding Lake Louise and the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise property. Rental equipment is available at Chateau Mountain Sports located in the hotel lobby. Lessons or Guided Mountain Heritage Tours can be arranged with our Concierge department.

DOGSLEDDING
Enjoy the exciting opportunity to race in an authentic Inuit sled pulled by purebred Huskies. Your musher sled guide shouts "Go!" and your dogs are off scampering over the pure white snow. With the fresh air on your face and the Canadian Rocky Mountains surrounding you, it's a journey like no other. SLEIGH RIDES
Take a horse drawn sleigh ride along the lakeside trail to the end of majestic Lake Louise and soak up the views of Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise with spectacular, natural mountain scenery along the way. ICE SKATING ON LAKE LOUISE
Enjoy an authentic Canadian skating experience on beautiful Lake Louise and discover why CNN and The Huffington Post (Fodors) claimed Lake Louise as World's Best Skating Rink. The dominating Victoria Glacier and snow-frosted Rocky Mountains provide a spectacular backdrop for skating on Lake Louise. Ice skating and hockey are available from mid-December to mid-April. SNOW TUBING
Visitors to The Lake Louise Ski Resort can experience the thrill of snow tubing! No previous snow sports experience is required and this is an activity that the whole family can enjoy. Located at the base of the mountain, guests can grab a tubing ticket from Guest Services, make their way to the beginner carpet area, get a tube and spend the day riding our 2 lane ‘Sunny Tube’ run.

JOHNSTON CANYON ICE WALK
Marvel at frozen waterfalls and dazzling pillars of blue ice as you explore the captivating magic of this winter wonderland. Your Guided Heritage Mountain tour begins with a 30-minute drive to the trail head, located on the scenic Bow Valley Parkway. After donning special "ice cleats", you will journey up to the lower canyon on numerous suspended catwalks before reaching the lower falls. Your trek continues onward and upward with many photo opportunities until you arrive at the grotto of the spectacular upper falls. Transportation, ice cleats and hiking poles are included.
