Enjoyed the beautiful hotel. Very disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t working when I specifically asked if there was any scheduled maintenance and was told there would be none. Had to call down to front desk because room next door was loud and they were yelling. The desk lamp was broken and the usb outlet bedside first bed wasn’t working .
Don’t arrive late at the Chateau Laurier (11pm). One solitary person on duty. They couldn’t give us a single unless we upgraded. Couldn’t give us a room with a bath. Night manager didn’t say a word to us despite walking past our check-in problems twice. He left it up to the only front desk person on duty who had no power to do anything other than check you in. Understandable in a 4 or 3 star hotel but not at a flagship 5 star hotel.

Well located, staff very welcoming and helpful, great view of parliament from our room.
The venue is gorgeous. I was there for an industry event CLIMOA. From valet of car upon check in Saturday 5/13 through our departure on Wednesday, 5/17, each staff person was exceptional. We were upgraded to room 375 in which we had access to the 4th floor lounge. Now that was a terrific experience. Really lovely. But more lovely was the staff at that 4th floor lounge. Folks such as a gal I don't recall her name. She would not accept any money, despite several attempts. She went so out of her way at 9:45 pm to get a toaster and knife so that i could cut my Kettleman bagel and brought me butter as well. She had an Asian name and was working late on tuesday night May 16, setting up for breakfast for the next day. The evening host on Saturday, sunday and monday from 13th to 15th named Angeliqe?? may have name incorrect. she was off on the 16th so felt bad as we missed saying good bye. she was so kind and provided my husband and i a map to show us how to get to the Glebe and her favorite pizza place. And the evening male host on 4th floor (worked tuesday eve was also incredibly sweet. Overall, was one of the best experiences we've had. And we are in our mid 60s so have spent number of decades traveling the world. my work has me traveling endlessly and I would rate you #1. We cannot wait to return. Sincerely, Elyssa Del V., MD.
The hotel is very beautiful and the room was very large. The views were very good and it was in an amazing location. I have sensitive skin and the bedding that I slept in must have been washed with a harsh chemical. I did not use the soaps provided but the next day I had dry, itchy rashes all over my back.
Arriving after a very late flight to a room with one face cloth, no robes and food spilled on the seat of the desk chair (1 of only two in the room) was an unexpected experience at a Fairmont. We raised the issues with the front desk in the morning and after we were told they would do a ‘deep clean’, the food was still on the chair. We complained again the next day and left a note on the chair and it was finally cleaned.
