excellent from A-Z
the signage for the FEX event were incorrect for all three days. I kindly advise hotel staff, but evidently nobody took action. I.E. The signage indicated FEX activity in three meetingrooms at mezzanine level, when there actually wasn’t scheduled activities for such group on such locations whatsoever. A very Strong smell at the mezzanine level. It did not directly affect me directly but experience does not speak to the quality I would have expected on a property his calliper. it was brought up to Hotel stuff out of courtesy. A moderate smell in room 236 cause a room change mid stay to room 228. This was also unexpected. It did affect me directly, particularly given the tight schedule of the symposium meetings. The AC caused a strong air current on the tables located across the front of the board room. Hotel location is excellent and the terrace naturally unbeatable winter, this is expected, and part of the reason to agreeing to stay at higher financial costs Overall experience was far below my expectation, particularly given the cost of the stay. I would have expected a refund which was never offered
The only thing that was good in the hotel was the staff. So you had the staff of a 4.5 star hotel in the hotel that is 2.5 star. Very unfortunate. You just cant keep putting lipstick on a pig because it just remains being a pig.
The hotel is beautiful, and well located. The room was a big disappointment. The usb outlets did not work, some of the electrical outlets did not work. Front desk did not have USB charging blocks available. Bathroom and coffee was not well stocked - I had to ask for cotton balls, shower cap, coffee, creamers. There was a thick layer of dust on the furniture and baseboards. The bathroom did not have reasonable counter space at all, and the paint was peeling off the wall. The rooms were not well soundproofed, I could hear everything in the room next to me, as well as doors opening and closing incessantly while trying to work in the afternoon.
it wasn't evident that the plug for the coffee maker was mounted under the overhang of the top of the cabinet housing the fridge, coffee maker, cups etc (the cabinet was black as was the plug - there was no information to let me know where the plug was. A house staff member asked why my coffee machine was on the floor near the door, it was the only plug I could find. She plugged it in to the plug on the cabinet - did not work. Back to the floor for the coffee maker. I left a note about a burnt out light bulb for the bedside lamp on the first morning of my 3 night stay - no action was taken. Reading area did not have a light other than a dim overhead (no reading there!). Overall it wasn't a great experience and not what I had hoped for at the Fairmont. I've stayed at the Chateau many times with wonderful experiences. Not this time.
Lovely room, great view and friendly, attentive staff.
I attended a business meeting. From the moment I walked in, all staff were friendly, called out "hellos" and were very helpful. The location is wonderful and the hotel itself is beautiful.
Every part of my stay was wonderful. The people were all pleasant and courteous and helpful! The location allowed me to explore the Market- even when I had only 30 minutes before needing to get back to a conference session.
Excellent
