•Turn left at the stoplight exiting the Kona International Airport onto Queen Kaahumanu Highway #19.
•Remain on Highway #19 for 19.5 miles.
•The entrance to Mauna Lani Resort is located on your left of the highway.
•Enter the resort on Mauna Lani Drive and proceed for about a mile to the round-about.
•Take the first right turn / cut-off which is North Kaniku Drive.
•Stay on North Kaniku Drive until you reach the main entrance to Fairmont Orchid at the end of the drive.
•From Kekuanaoa St. (Airport Access Road) turn right onto Kanoelehua St.
•Turn left onto Kamehameha Ave. Continue as lane merges to the right onto Highway 19.
•Remain on Highway 19 to Waimea. Follow signs in Waimea to Kawaihae (turn right on Lindsey Road/Highway 19). Continue down Kawaihae Rd.
•At the T-intersection on your left, turn left to continue on Highway 19.
•Continue approximately 7 miles to the right-hand turn lane to Puako for Mauna Lani Resort.
•Turn right onto Mauna Lani Drive.
•Proceed past the Guard House to the traffic circle and take the first right to Fairmont Orchid on N. Kaniku Dr.
•Stay on N. Kaniku Dr. until you reach the main entrance to Fairmont Orchid at the end of the drive.

We stayed at the property for 11 days and everything was fantastic!

Was very nice but the property is huge, parking is far from your room and valet cost extra. Not enough umbrellas by the pool, no umbrellas allowed on the beach because it's lava rock underneath and they won't stay. While I understand this it's very hot and unless you rent a cabana for $150 you are just baking in the sun. Room had lots of wear and tear and the furniture on the lanai was stained. Food on beach very good, room service eeww. Also, lots of dirty dishes left out by the elevator all day long, room service trays by doors of hotel rooms left out all day.
Massive scale operation. Not a boutique. Best suited for wealthy families who plan to take advantage of amenities.

We love Fairmont and have stayed at them all over Canada and the US. We were disappointed by the technology offering (very old tv's in the room - where are the smart TVs? We're in 2023!) Also, we didn't love that the only option at breakfast was a buffet. Why no a la carte options. We had brunch at Auberge for the same amount for the buffet (and it was, hate to say it, a lot better) and there were a la carte options. That's the feedback otherwise love the service and the feel.
The stay for my family at Fairmont Orchid was wonderful! Lynn, the manager of the front desk, truly shined with her friendly Aloha spirit. She quickly resolved the unexpected issue for us upon check-in, and continued to provide post-stay customer services when needed. Also, Kimberly, the manager of Spa Service, patiently listened to my concerns for my skin, and recommended a facial treatment that was best for me, as I had dermatitis a couple months ago and my skin has become very sensitive. My skin looked glowy after the treatment, and I even went back to the Spa the next day to buy the products. My family will definitely stay at Fairmont next time we go to Big Island.
Residing locally and celebrating our 51st anniversary, we arrived early, having previously requested an early checkin. That was the only disappointing issue of our stay, it was 4:00PM till we received our room. You did hold our luggage so we could visit your resort till checkin. But we were never notified our room was ready till we re-checked with the registration desk. Everything else was wonderful and your hotel even sent us a complimentary bottle of champagne for our anniversary. We enjoyed our 2 night stay and will be returning. We moved to the Big Island of Hawaii one year ago to be close to our children and grandchildren. We couldn’t move soon do to our being caregivers to both sets of our parents and a grandmother that lived to be 103. We are very happy to be here and will certainly recommend your resort to our adult children and their friends on the island. Thank you for making our anniversary special Chuck & Jane G. 80…
